Sanghvi College of Engineering (DJSCE), Vile Parle, Mumbai, is not just one of Maharashtra's best autonomous colleges — it is arguably the hardest autonomous college to crack for Computer Science in the entire state. Run by Shri Vile Parle Kelvani Mandal (SVKM) and holding Gujarathi Linguistic Minority status, DJSCE offers 8 branches and consistently delivers some of the lowest (hardest) closing ranks in Maharashtra's CAP system.

These are the four numbers every DJSCE aspirant must know before doing anything else:

OPEN Category Closing Percentile by Branch (CAP Round III, 2024-25)

Computer Engineering at DJSCE is arguably the single hardest autonomous-college CS seat in all of Maharashtra. The OPEN category (GOPENS) closed at rank 1,458 (99.44 percentile) in CAP Round III 2024-25. Information Technology at DJSCE sits just one tier below CSE in terms of prestige — and the cutoffs reflect exactly that. The OPEN category closed at rank 2,464 (99.12 percentile). Only about 2,500 students across Maharashtra scored higher.

One interesting data point: Ladies OPEN (LOPENS) closed at rank 2,327 (99.17%) — actually harder than General OPEN (rank 2,464). Female candidates face marginally steeper competition for IT seats at DJSCE than their male counterparts, suggesting very high demand from the women's merit pool. The Minority category closed at rank 6,157 (97.92 percentile) — a meaningful advantage for Gujarathi students who fall just short of the OPEN cutoff. With AI & DS growing in industry relevance every year, expect 2026 cutoffs to be stable or slightly higher.

E&TC at DJSCE is where the data becomes genuinely interesting for strategic aspirants. The OPEN category closed at rank 5,038 (98.28 percentile) — extremely competitive for a non-CS branch. But two other categories offer unique opportunities.

First, Ladies OPEN (LOPENS) closed at rank 4,032 (98.61%) — again harder than General OPEN, consistent with the IT trend. But the TFWS closed at rank 2,600 (99.07 percentile) — making it harder than OPEN. IoT and Cyber Security is a newer specialisation and has a slightly more accessible OPEN cutoff than AI DS or CSE Data Science. OPEN closed at rank 3,895 (98.66 percentile). The Minority category at rank 12,213 (95.96%) provides meaningful access for Gujarathi students who miss the mainstream CS cutoffs.

Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI & ML) – Branch Code 0319992110

AI & ML is one of the most sought-after new-age branches at DJSCE. OPEN closed at rank 3,751 (98.70 percentile). Unlike most other branches here, LOPENS (rank 3,856, 98.66%) is slightly easier than GOPENS (rank 3,751, 98.70%) — the only branch where Ladies OPEN is less demanding than General OPEN. Minority closed at rank 8,559 (97.18%).

DJSCE's cutoffs are among the most stable in Maharashtra — because demand for its Mumbai-based autonomous degree consistently outstrips seat supply. Year-on-year variation is typically within ±0.2 to ±0.4 percentile for most branches. For 2026, here is what the data suggests:
